The China Finance Centre presents its CBW FOCUS GROUP of China Stocks Surveys.  These surveys utilize a series of comparative performance factors including fundamentals, technical analysis, liquidity, safety, regulatory compliance and timely filings, shareholder relations, and U.S. Trading Market Qualifications.

 

Other factors include position within its sector, technological achievements and compliance with basic performance standards, depth of  executive leadership, breadth of management structure, unique accomplishments of senior management, reaction to changing circumstances, achievement of short term and long term announced goals.

 

The performance figures provide an analysis of volatility of trading activity of each of the FOCUS GROUP stocks and show the unique nature of these particular issues.  As will be seen, the upward trading activity of these stocks has been quite substantial and highly unusual, reflecting CBW believes the unique nature of the select companies, as reflected in their continued records of performance, growth, expansion and technological achievements.

China Techfaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited, a holding company, provides mobile handset design services in the People’s Republic of China and internationally. It offers design services, which include industrial design, mechanical design, software design, hardware design, component selection and sourcing, prototype testing, pilot production, and production support. In addition, the company provides other products, which include wireless modules, printed circuit boards, and other electronic components. China Techfaith is headquartered in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China.

 

Cathay Merchant Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in manufacturing and trading aluminium products primarily in Europe. The company offers aluminium sheets, foils, strips, and blanks for use by industrial and commercial fabricators of aluminium products. It also produces aluminium foil for flexible packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, and technical applications. The company was incorporated in 1977 as American Electromedics Corp. and changed its name to Equidyne Corporation in 2000. Subsequently, it changed its name to Cathay Merchant Group, Inc. in 2004. Natural Health Trends was incorporated in 1988 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

 

CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) provides enterprise software, mobile applications, and online games. It has two primary units, CDC Software and China.com, Inc. CDC Software offers a range of software solutions for mid-sized enterprises. China.com, Inc. focuses on online entertainment and Internet services. CDC Corporation also offers consumer-based and enterprise-based mobile applications services. The company was incorporated in 1997 as China Information Infrastructure Limited and changed its name to chinadotcom corporation in 2000. Further, it changed its name to CDC Corporation in 2005. CDC Corporation is headquartered in Hong Kong.

 

Linktone, Ltd. provides wireless media, entertainment, and communication services to mobile phone users in the People’s Republic of China. It engages in the development, aggregation, marketing, and distribution of consumer wireless content and applications for access by mobile phone users. The company offers entertainment-oriented wireless value-added services over the second generation (2G) and the 2.5G mobile telecommunications networks. Linktone’s 2G short messaging services-based services include ringtones, icons and screen savers, interactive SMS messaging in certain television programs,Linktone, formerly known as Intrinsic Technology (Holdings), Ltd., was founded in 1999 by Jun Wu and Derek Sulger. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, China.

 

KongZhong Corp. is a leading provider of advanced second generation (2.5G) wireless interactive entertainment, media, and community services, in terms of revenue, to customers of China Mobile Communications Corporation (China Mobile), which has the largest mobile subscriber base in the world. China Mobile ranked KongZhong as the number one wireless value-added service provider on its network in terms of revenue for 2.5G wireless value-added services in 2003 and the first and second quarters of 2004. In addition, we have recently begun to provide wireless value-added services on the networks of China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom), China Telecommunications Corporation (China Telecom), China Network Communications Group Corporation (China Netcom). The company is headquartered in Beijing and provides services throughout China.

 

Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. provides manufacturing and design services to telecommunication and consumer electronic original equipment manufacturers. It has three segments: Consumer Electronics and Communication Products (CECP); Telecommunication Components Assembly (TCA); and LCD panels (LCDP).The company sells its products primarily in China, Europe, Japan, the United States, North America, and Korea. Nam Tai was founded by Koo in 1975 and is based in Road Town, British Virgin Islands.

 

Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited, through its subsidiaries, engages in the development and operation of online games in China. It offers a portfolio of online games, which users play over the Internet. The company’s content offerings primarily comprise online games, including massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs) and casual games, as well as online chess and board games, a network PC game platform, and wireless games. MMORPGs are action-adventure based, and draw upon martial arts and combat themes. Casual games are session-based, which can be played to a conclusion within a short period of time. Shanda Interactive also offers wireless games to the users of mobile phones. In addition, the company, through its EZ Center platform, provides users with access to additional content and services, including movies, music, literature works, finance and investment information, travel information, news, and educational programs.

 

Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited primarily produces synthetic fibers, resins and plastics, intermediate petrochemicals, and petroleum products from crude petroleum in Chaina. The company produces polyester and acrylic staple fiber, acrylic top, polypropylene, polyester chips, polyethylene pellets, polypropylene pellets, polyvinyl acetate, gasoline, diesel, jet oil, ethylene, ethylene oxide, benzene, butadiene, ethylene glycol, and other products. It sells its products to trading companies and industrial users. The company was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Shanghai, China. Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company is a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation.

 

YaSheng Group, Ltd. and its subsidiaries engage in the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of farming and sideline products, biotech products, chemical materials and products, textiles, construction materials, and livestock and poultry in the People’s Republic of China. The company designs, develops, and markets technologies related to agriculture, genetic biology, and network exploring. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Redwood City, California.
